Up 0.7 Percent from January 2024<\/h3>\n

WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong> \u2013 The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that for the month of January 2025, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,435,458 net tons, a 4.1 percent increase from the 7,145,016 net tons shipped in the previous month December 2024, and a 0.7 percent increase from the 7,384,354 net tons shipped in January 2024.<\/p>\n

A comparison of January 2025 shipments to the month of January 2024 shows the following changes: cold rolled sheet and strip, up 2 percent, corrosion resistant sheet and strip, down 6 percent and hot rolled sheet and strip, down 8 percent.<\/p>\n

AISI has revised the final 2024 shipment tonnage to reflect revisions to the shipments report at the end of 2024 which consolidated some categories and made additional updates. Shipments for full year 2024 are 86,698,917 net tons, down 3.0% vs. 2023 full year shipments of 89,338,472 net tons.<\/p>\n
