Down 3.7 Percent YTD in 2024 from Same Period in 2023<\/h3>\n

WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong> \u2013 The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that for the month of October 2024, U.S. steel mills shipped 6,987,092 net tons, a 4.9 percent decrease from the 7,346,373 net tons shipped in October 2023. Shipments were down 1.4 percent from the 7,083,141 net tons shipped in the previous month, September 2024. Shipments year-to-date in 2024 are 72,283,207 net tons, down 3.7% vs. 2023 shipments of 75,080,374 net tons for ten months.<\/p>\n

A comparison of shipments year-to-date in 2024 to the first ten months of 2023 shows the following changes: cold rolled sheet, up 4 percent, corrosion resistant steel, unchanged and hot rolled steel, down 6 percent.<\/p>\n
